CN PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION
CN & Hockey Helps the Homeless
CN has signed on as the Premier National Partner with the Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) program, for three years, starting in 2024 (details here). The program consists of organizing and holding hockey tournaments in locations across Canada and where available, they include NHL, AHL, etc. alumni, local teams and where there is sufficient interest, a CN team (active employees).
Since 1996, Hockey Helps the Homeless Canada, a not-for-profit hockey charity with over 25,000 donors, 3,500 players, and 1,000 volunteers, has granted over $28 million to face-off against homelessness. Everyone from community participants to NHL players and Olympians participate annually and "play with purpose to combat homelessness." 100% of net proceeds stay local in the city the tournament is in. HHTH partners with over 60 local homeless support agencies across Canada. For more information about Hockey Helps the Homeless events, please visit www.hockeyhelpsthehomeless.com.

CN and HHTH are looking for volunteers to help make these events a success. Each event needs a group of volunteers to perform various duties during the tournament. CN and HHTH are hoping that some of our CNPA members will step forward act as volunteers at each of these locations. HHTH has advised that in terms of volunteer opportunities** for pensioners 60+ in age, there are various flexible roles including:

-

The details for the scheduled tournaments are listed below (locations where there is likely to be a "CN team" involved are indicated in the table). If you wish to become a HHTH volunteer, please go to the HHTH Volunteer Cup page at: https://hhth.akaraisin.com/ui/VolunteerCup
NOTE: Any member/spouse volunteering for this event will qualify for our Railroaders in the Community program and can log their hours for the event and CN will contribute to HHTH.
